In town, one of the most impressive outdoor areas is the Alafia Scrub Nature Preserve. Providing space for bird-watching, walking, and hiking (on either a 0.8-mile or 1.3-mile loop), the 80-acre preserve is open daily from sunrise to sunset. Two other great places to check out are Riverview Neighborhood Park (which features a playground) and Lake Cherrywood.
Immediately outside of Riverview, there are numerous outdoor spaces to visit on your off days. Noteworthy locations include Bell Creek Nature Preserve, the Myron and Helen Gibbons Nature Preserve,
Bloomingdale Golfers Club, and the Rhodine Scrub Nature Preserve.
